Jam Sessions

From October 2001 to June 2002 PPA+ teamed up with the famous Geneva night-spot Au Chat Noir in Carouge to jointly organise one of Geneva's hippest jam session venues. This is what Geneva's musicians and discerning audiences had been waiting for! Some quotes from the press (in French, sorry...):

   "Tous les premiers jeudis du mois, la Jam du Blakat, célèbre maintenant pour la qualité
    des musiciens qui viennent croiser le fer de leurs cuivres et cordes. L'ambiance est
    soul-funk-jazz, bien maîtrisée, et nous offre un merveilleux voyage à la découverte du
    groove qui sévit dans les clubs de New-York."

   "De plus en plus (PPA+) de monde pour ces jams organisées avec brio par Ernie Odoom
    et le collectif dynamique. C'est un succès rare pour ce genre de projet et nous ne
    pouvons que féliciter cette belle initiative. La barre est haute et la portée foisonne de
    talents prometteurs."

Due to their phenomenal success, The BlaKat Jam Sessions are now an integral part of the Chat Noir's programming strategy. The house band is generally based around PPA+, but from time to time some VERY SPECIAL guests take over. The full jam schedule is available here.

From September through June, The Jam Sessions are held every first Thursday of the month from 9:30pm till 1:30am at the Chat Noir in Carouge, followed by DJ Chill Pop till 4am.
